A Guide for Beginning Amateur Astronomers Who Want to Name a Star
First thing I want to tell you is that you can not Officially Name a Star through any agency. Now with that said, here are two agencies that will, for a fee, assign a name (within reason and decency) of your choice to a star. They will give you a certificate with this name and position. One offers stars that you can see with your own eyes with little or no aid (some can be seen only from a dark sky or need binoculars) The other offers stars that are visable only through binoculars or a telescope.
